Special Voters’ Meeting May 5, 2002 

        Chairman Nelson Torbeck called the meeting to order and Pastor Simmons led those present in the Lord’s Prayer. Chairman Torbeck explained the reason for the calling of the special meeting. 

        Elder Bob Williams read the mutual agreement between the Congregation of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Augsburg and Pastor Simmons to those present. A motion to approve the mutual agreement received a second. There was call for a secret ballot. The Chairman appointed Dennis Lange, David Kruenegel, and Tim Torbeck as tellers for the votes.

        Chairman Torbeck explained the reason for the vote. There was a discussion concerning the agreement. Rev. Wesley Reimnitz of the Central Illinois District explained the background of the agreement and what would happen if the vote failed. The motion carried.

        Elder Bob Williams then read the Interim Mutual Agreement between the Congregation of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Augsburg and Pastor Simmons to those present. There was a discussion concerning the Interim Mutual Agreement. A motion to accept the Interim Mutual Agreement received a second. The Chairman announced that the vote would be by secret ballot. The motion carried.

        The Chairman thanked and released the tellers. The Chairman stated that the Elders are to be the calling committee. Rev. Reimnitz explained the calling procedure to those present. The Chairman thanked Rev. Reimnitz for his help and attendance. The meeting was adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer.
