Can you think of a better way to spend a Thursday evening? Join us at this month’s Evening Bible Study on Thursday, May 20th (beginning at 7:00 PM) as we take a close look at those events that marked the day of Pentecost. Just as the believers in the early church dedicated themselves to the apostles’ teaching, we are privileged to share in this opportunity to gather around His Word and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Come and bring a friend. All are encouraged to attend.

On Sunday morning, May 30th, Seminarian Tim Koch (and former vicar of Pastor Doug Meyer) will be leading our fellowship in Bible Study and Worship. NOTE: There will be no communion on the morning of May 30th.

Saturday Evening Service Coming In July: Saturday, July 3rd will mark the first of our monthly Saturday evening services. Divine Service with Communion (6:00 PM) will be scheduled for the first Saturday of each month thereafter.  This provides our worship community with an additional opportunity to gather around God’s gifts in Word and Sacrament. What a great opportunity to invite a friend to be in that place where “faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God”. Mark your calendars now!

It’s Not Too Early To Start Thinking About VBS 2010 NOW: Vacation Bible School is scheduled for the week that begins Sunday, July 25th. This annual event provides Immanuel Augsburg with the ideal opportunity to present the precious Gospel message to children (and adults) throughout this community. Think about it! This may be the very first time that many of these children have heard the Good News.  Our goal is to ensure that the Word is faithfully proclaimed and heard, so that those who have not heard may hear and know that Jesus is the Christ, and that by believing they may life in His Name.

We want you to start thinking about this RIGHT NOW. How can you contribute of your time, talents and resources to ensure that these children might share in what God has so freely given you in Christ? More information will be forthcoming shortly. Please plan on participating in this important event.

Ladies Aid donated $1000.00 to the general fund and $500.00 to the Youth of the Church.  Thanks for your support of our Church.

Augsburg Angels are looking for a volunteer to bake a pie to be auctioned off on WPMB radio.  The auction will be the week before the Relay for Life.  If you have any questions, contact Karen or Scott Torbeck.

Free- Computer monitors and a double cassette player in the kitchen basement.  First come first serve.  Scott can get a power cord for the monitor, if needed.

Golden Circle (Meals on Wheels) is having their annual dinner this Sunday to help fund the program.  Serving is from 11:00-1:00 at the center.  Thrivent Financial is matching funds.
